On May 13, Chairman Mr. Kim Chang Keon received an honorary doctorate in economics from Tashkent State University of Economics, one of the most prestigious universities in Uzbekistan, where currently about 50,000 undergraduate and graduate students are studying.
The honorary doctorate was recommended by the Uzbek government in recognition of Chairman Mr. Kim Chang Keon's contributions to the economic development of the Republic of Uzbekistan, and he was also appointed as an honorary professor at the university.
At today's honorary doctorate ceremony, Chairman Mr. Kim Chang Keon delivered a lecture for about two hours on the issues of the rapidly changing global economy and the direction of economic cooperation and development between Korea and Uzbekistan. About 100 people, including Rector Mr. To'lqin Teshabayev, key vice rectors, graduate school deans, and professors, listened to the lecture, asked various questions, and held a lively discussion.
In gratitude for the honorary doctorate, Chairman Mr. Kim Chang Keon promised to make further efforts to contribute to the development of the Tashkent State University of Economics, as well as to the economic development of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the promotion of economic cooperation and friendship with the Republic of Korea.
