From November 26 to 30, a delegation from the Republic of Uzbekistan’s Fergana Region, led by Governor Mr. Khayrullo Bozarov, made an official visit to South Korea.
The delegation’s itinerary included a visit to Chungcheongnam-do Province, where they held discussions with Governor Mr. Kim Tae-heum and participated in official events.
They also visited Pyeongtaek City for a meeting with Mayor Mr. Jung Jang-seon, along with formal events, and Gimpo City for discussions with Mayor Mr. Kim Byung-soo. Additionally, the delegation toured key institutions and companies, engaging in various discussions and signing MOUs. A highlight of the visit was the opening ceremony of the Fergana-Chungcheongnam-do Trade Representative Office.
In May of this year, Chungcheongnam-do Province and Fergana Region formalized a sister-city partnership. Chairman Mr. Kim Chang Keon, who serves as an advisor to the government of the Republic of Uzbekistan, an overseas trade advisor for Chungcheongnam-do Province, and a policy advisor for Pyeongtaek City, has been playing a significant role in supporting these collaborative efforts.
During the Pyeongtaek City visit, Mayor Mr. Jung Jang-seon hosted a commemorative tree-planting ceremony for Governor Mr. Khayrullo Bozarov and presented him with an honorary citizenship certificate of Pyeongtaek City.
