From August 27 to 28, Chairman Chang Keon Kim joined the official delegation of Pyeongtaek City to Kazakhstan in his capacity as Policy Advisor to Pyeongtaek City. During the visit, he supported various cooperative initiatives, including the signing of a Friendship and Cooperation Agreement with Almaty Province and visits to enterprises run by ethnic Koreans.
The delegation, led by Mayor Jung Jang Seon of Pyeongtaek City, included about ten prominent figures such as Jeong Jong-pil, President of the Pyeongtaek International Exchange Foundation, Oh Joong-geun, President of the Pyeongtaek Cultural Center, and Choi Seung-gyu, President of the Social Welfare Council.
On the first day, the delegation paid an official visit to the Almaty Provincial Government, where they signed a letter of intent on intercity cooperation with Governor Sultan Gaziev and discussed diverse opportunities for exchange and collaboration. On the second day, the delegation met with the Association of Descendants of Independence Activists and the Korean Cultural Association to listen to the experiences of ethnic Koreans in Kazakhstan and explore areas of mutual cooperation and support.
In addition, the delegation visited ethnic Korean enterprises, including the Olympic Facilities Management Corporation (chaired by Elena Jo) and Shin Line Group (chaired by Andrey Shin), where discussions were held on economic cooperation.
In particular, Chairman Kim held talks with ethnic Korean entrepreneurs in Kazakhstan regarding new business ventures, selecting key items for future collaboration and agreeing to pursue active cooperation.
