On October 4, a Chuseok celebration was held at the Korean Cultural Center in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, attended by around 1,000 distinguished guests from both Korea and Uzbekistan.
At the event, Chairman Kim Chang Keon received the Medal of Merit for Social Service in recognition of his dedicated volunteer work for the Korean diaspora in Uzbekistan and his outstanding contribution to strengthening friendship and cooperation between the two nations.
On behalf of the Government of Uzbekistan, Mr. Viktor Pak, Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly and Chairman of the Korean Cultural Association in Uzbekistan, presented the medal and expressed his deep appreciation.
In his acceptance speech, Chairman Kim pledged to continue strengthening his role as a bridge between Korea and Uzbekistan, promoting bilateral friendship and the development of the Korean community in Uzbekistan.
Chairman Kim was also awarded the Do’stlik (“Friendship”) Order by the President of Uzbekistan, one of the country’s highest honors, as well as the Medal of Diplomatic Merit awarded by the Prosecutor General’s Office of Uzbekistan.
